Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Mocha Freeze

Well, after much complaining, Summer has finally arrived in it's full hot, hazy & humid splendor. What was wrong with all that rain, again? Hmmmmm... 90 degrees is a bit much when you haven't had a chance to acclimate to it. You know how I prefer to deal with the sudden jump in temperature? With a frosty treat from the best coffeehouse in North Conway, the Met! And this inspires today's scrumptious recipe from Beanpod. To make a mocha Freeze, combine Beanpod's Chocolate, Whipped Cream, and Vanilla Coffee soy beads in a melter and warm. Careful, not too fast or you just might imagine yourself up an ice cream headache!

Aaaaahhhh... welcome June and welcome back sunshine! It's been a while! Today is an absolutely gorgeous day in the Mt. Washington Valley. The rain is gone and everything seems brighter, fresher, and greener for it! It's always a relief to make it to June; you know that Summer really is here. Schools are getting out, black flies are almost gone and it's time to get out and breathe in the warmth. Today's recipe will bring the fresh, clean scent of the mountains right into your home. Just combine Beanpod's Evergreen, Fresh Linen & Lavender soy beads in a melter and start them warming. It's not quite as nice as actually getting out for a hike up the Moats, but it'll do in a pinch!

A Note About Our Sister Store

Many of you who have been lucky enough to visit our flagship store in the Mount Washington Valley are also familiar with our sister-store, the Framed Art Superstore. You'll remember them for their tremendous selection of art, crazy discounts, and - of course - their mascots: Zeus & Zack, the two black labs. Well, after nine years on Route 16 here in North Conway, they moved into North Conway village last October. Well, they're getting ready to do it again, but don't worry, they aren't going too far! Read more about it by clicking here and be sure to visit us both next time you're in the north country. (And if you bring a few dog treats, I know a couple of puppies who will be your new best friends!)

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Almond Joy

It's another cold, snowy day here in North Conway. We've had a long, hard winter and March is already proving to be no exception. Another foot of snow is falling on us today and Spring seems even further away. So today I've decided to embrace it and think warm, sweet thoughts. And that leads me to today's recipe of the day: Almond Joy. Now if you like, you can think of the scrumptious candy bar, but on such a chily day, I prefer to think of my favorite winter drink: Hot Chocolate with a little Malibu rum and Amaretto liquor. Warms you right up! So to get that feeling with out the buzz (I am at work) I recommend burning Beanpod's Angel Amaretto candle and seasoning it with Chocolate and Beach Walk (coconut) soy beads on top. Mmmmmmm.... I'm feeling warmer just thinking about it!
