Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Winter Forest
We've had nearly a foot of new, fresh powder fall over the past week in New Hampshire. There's nothing us snow bunnies like more than reading a sentence like that! Whether you're hitting the slopes, breaking a new cross country trail, or just strapping on the snowshoes, you simply can't get enough of that fresh, crisp smell of being immersed in a snowy forest. Well, if the time comes when you simply must go inside and warm up, here's how to recreate that scent: Start with Beanpod's Adirondack Mountains candle and "season" it with Evergreen and Solitude soy beads.

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Spiced Punch
It's the HOLIDAYS!!!! My favorite tradition at this time of year is to make a big vat of wassail, or spiced punch. My husband was the first person to introduce me to this Christmas classic and now it just doesn't seem like the holidays with out it. Even better than the warm, sweet , spicy taste is the smell that lingers through the house. To get that scent all season long, just burn Beanpod's American Harvest candle and "Season" it with McIntosh Apple & Cranberry Clove soy beads.

Aaah, despite the long, rainy Spring/ Summer we've had so far in New England, Strawberry season is once again here! And, while the strawberry's may be a little smaller than some years previous, they are just as sweet and delicious! So today, I'm making a Strawberry Cheesecake recipe to get me excited about the basket of fresh strawberries I brought home yesterday! Today's recipe is super simple, just start with Beanpod's Cheesecake candle in any size you please, then "season" it with Strawberry Cream soy beads! If you're feeling extra kicky, add a few Whipped Cream soy beads to the mix... why not!

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Hot Fudge Sundae
So Summer is FINALLY back in New Hampshire! We've had nearly a FULL MONTH of rain, but most of yesterday and (so far) all of today have been GORGEOUS! At long, long last! And that puts me in the mood for a hot fudge sundae! Alas I do believe that after a month of rain, my comfort-eating won't allow me to truly indulge, but I can fake it with Beanpod! Here's how to get the scent of a scrumptious hot fudge sundae: Start with a Vanilla candle and sprinkle Chocolate and Whipped Cream soy beads on top of it to "season" it. As for the cherry on top, well, that is one indulgence I'll allow myself!

So here's today's "Summer-y" recipe: Start with Beanpod's Honeydew Melon candle and sprinkle Lemon Citrus and Fruit Slices soy beads on top to "season" it. Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Mudlside
OK - I'll be honest... my favorite things about Summer is consuming cocktails on the porch! There's something about sunshine and alcohol which just works for me! Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Key Lime Pie
Here's a way to get the best of the bakery and the fruit scents: Key Lime Pie! Mmmmmm... It's a nice blend that's sweet, but not too sweet. We'll try this recipe out with "seasoning" again. This is where you start with a jar candle, in this case Beanpod's Lime Cooler, and sprinkle a teaspoon or so of soy beads on top of it to blend different scents in for a layer. To make Key Lime Pie, we'll
sprinkle a little bit of Graham Cracker and Whipped Cream soy beads on top of our Lime Cooler candle. Yum! Seasoning is a fun way to temporarily add or change scents of the candle you're burning. When the top layer burns off, the scent returns to the regular scent of the jar, so one jar can smell like a hundred different things before it burns out completely... it's just up to you, your imagination, and your different scents of soy beads. Have fun!

Just "season" Beanpod's Honeydew Melon candle with Fruit Slices and Strawberry Cream soy beads. It's feeling sunnier already!

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Sugar & Spice
Many of you who have been in our store are already familiar with my daughter, Ryan. She comes in with me several days a week and has become sort of a Soyfire mascot over the past two years. As the old saying goes, Ryan is definitely sugar & spice & everything nice, and - as such - she is also the inspiration for today's recipe. To make "Sugar & Spice" start with Beanpod's Sugar Cookie jar candle and "season it" with Whipped Cream & Cinnamon Spice soy beads. Ryan highly recommends it!

Beanpod already makes an amazing Apple Pie scented soy candle, but here's how you can make it even better, just "season" it with whipped cream and vanilla soy beads and suddenly it's not just the sweet, warm scent of a fresh baked desert, but a truly indulgent aroma.

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Forest Trail
Aaah... life in the White Mountains! At this time of year, I love to get out and take a leisurely walk though the woods and take in the smells of Spring. Today's recipe will comfort those of you who share my love for this fresh, piny, earthy scent. Start with Beanpod's Adirondack Mountains candle and season it with Evergreen and Bonsai Tree soy beads. The balsam fragrance of the Evergreen and the earthy, mossy scent of the Bonsai Tree blend so nicely with the sharp scent of Scotch pines in Adirondack Mountains that you get the full forest aroma.

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Mocha Coffee
Hi there! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I think I'm still in a food coma and may never need to eat again! There's something about holidays which - though wonderful - exhausts me to know end. There's the driving, the over-eating, the merry-making - it leaves a person in serious need of a coffee IV-drip! Therefore, here's my caffeinated recipe
for today: Mocha Coffee. To make this recipe, I recommend starting with Beanpod's Vanilla Coffee candle and seasoning it with Chocolate soy beads. If you still have an unsatisfied sweet tooth, why not throw a few whipped cream beads in to? That's the fun of soy beads, you can customize any scent in whatever way you like. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some stale Peeps calling my name!Friday, March 27, 2009
Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Is there anything more decadent than chocolate covered strawberries? As faithful readers may have guessed by now, I am a sucker for the sweet, bakery scents. This is definitely one of my favorites, and it's elegant in its simplicity. Start with Beanpod's Strawberry Cream candle and season it with a sprinkle of Beanpod's Chocolate soy beads. Now if you can just grab a glass of champagne and find someone to massage your feet you are going to be in heaven!

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Sangria
Today's recipe involves "seasoning," where instead of using a traditional bead melter, you sprinkle the soy beads directly onto a jar candle. This is gives a temporary scent infusion to your candle and mixes the different scents together for a layer. For instance, to make the scent of Sangria, start with Beanpod's Raspberry Lemonade candle and sprinkle about a teaspoon or so of Fruit Slices soy beads directly on top. Once lit, the two scents will blend together until that layer of wax burns off. At that point, you can add more Fruit Slices soy beads, or just enjoy the pure scent of Raspberry Lemonade straight. It's your choice!

Beanpod Soy Candle Recipe of the Day: Spring Bouquet

Happy Spring!
It may not quite be the right weather for riding your bike in your short sleeves here in North Conway, but it IS officially Spring and with that comes today's recipe: Spring bouquet. To create this fresh, sweet scent just start with Beanpod's Earthly Embrace candle and sprinkle a small amount of Lilac beads on top. This is called "seasoning" a candle. It's a fun way to add a temporary scent infusion and change up your favorite scent. As the scent of the lilac fades as the candle burns, just add a few more beads!
